  8. "A Better Way To Find Graphics On The Internet!"

  10. Internet Graphics Finder (GRIF) is a 32-bit Windows application 
  11. that provides a better way to find graphics on the Internet. 
  12. It can also view, enhance, print and save pictures from the Internet.  
  13. Multiple image thumbnails are viewed at one time in the GRIF Gallery. 
  14. GRIF supports image file formats JPG, GIF (animated) and BMP.  
  15.  
  16. Image Search Options Include:
  17.  
  18.   1) Keyword Search - Enter a keyword and search the Lycos, AltaVista
  19.          or Yahoo image archives for the exact picture you need.
  20.  
  21.   2) Predefined Image Categories - Display the pictures contained on
  22.          the best graphics web sites we've found.  All predefined sites 
  23.          offer public domain images!!
  24.  
  25.   3) Multi-level Web Site Searching - Predefined sites that offer multi-
  26.          level Internet image pages.  Allows drilling down through
  27.      web site links to help find images.
  28.  
  29.   4) Extracts Images From any Entered Web Address - Enter a URL
  30.          from your favorite graphics web site and GRIF will download 
  31.          and display the image in the GRIF Gallery.  (NOTE: Please 
  32.          respect the use of images that are not in the public domain.)

  34. INTERNET PROVIDER REQUIRED
  35. You must have and be signed on to an ISP (Internet Service Provider)
  36. before you can run Internet Graphics Finder.  America Online, Prodigy, 
  37. CompuServe and other online services will also work as Internet 
  38. providers as long as you log into their service first.

  40. PARENTAL DISCRETION WARNING
  41. Internet Graphics Finder does not contain any Parental Discretion 
  42. controls at this time.  It will not filter offensive images from 
  43. being displayed and downloaded.  Use this program at your own 
  44. discretion.

  46. IMAGE COPYRIGHT VIOLATION
  47. The search and pre-set scan sites used by Internet Graphics Finder use
  48. web pages that contain Public Domain images.  The public domain status
  49. could change at any time.  When you save a web image make sure you can 
  50. legally use the image before doing so.

  53. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

  55.  * Microsoft 32-bit OS - Windows '95, '98 or Windows NT 
  56.  * A hard disk with approximately 7 Meg of hard disk space
  57.  * Pentium 60 or higher CPU recommended
  58.  * A minimum of 8 Meg of RAM; 32 Meg or more recommended
  59.  * Internet Access Provider and a connection to the Internet
  60.  
  61. INSTALLING GRIF:
  62.  
  63. *Make sure all unnecessary programs are closed before installing
  64. Internet Graphics Finder.
  65.  
  66. If you received one install file:
  67.  
  68.   1) Run GRIF##SETUP.EXE (self extracting file) or GRIF##SETUP.ZIP 
  69.      (PKZIPed file) from Windows START to start the install.  
  70.  
  71. If you received 3 installation disks:
  72.  
  73.   2) Run GRIF##SETUP.EXE from disk 1 to start the install.  If running
  74.      from your hard drive, make sure all installation files
  75.      (GRIF##SETUP.EXE, GRIF##.W02, GRIF##.W03) are in the same directory.

  123. The OCX controls should be registered during Graphics
  124. Discovery installation.  If you experience any problems 
  125. registering the LTOCX10N.OCX or IMGSRCH30.OCX controls, 
  126. first try unregistering and re-registering the control, 
  127. as shown below using the Windows Start - Run option:
  128.  
  129. REGSVR32 /U <filename>.OCX
  130. REGSVR32 <filename>.OCX

  132. If you experience an error running the program after installation,
  133. here are some other files that may need to be re-registered using
  134. REGSVR32.EXE after installing GRIF:
  135. OLEAUT32.DLL
  136. OLEPRO32.DLL

  138. GRIF was written with Visual Basic Ver 5.0 which requires a 
  139. runtime DLL called: MSVBVM50.DLL.  This should be installed 
  140. during GRIF installation.  If not, you can downloaded it from 
  141. most online services and from Microsoft's web site on the Internet.

  153. To uninstall Internet Graphics Finder, use the Add/Remove Software Wizard 
  154. on the Windows 95/98/NT Control Panel or run the UNWISE.EXE program in 
  155. the GRIF directory.

  158. GETTING STARTED:
  159.  
  160. To begin using Internet Graphics Finder, click on the Internet 
  161. Graphics Finder icon in Program STARTUP or double click on 
  162. Internet Graphics Finder in Windows Explorer.  Enter a search value
  163. of the type of image you are looking for (ex: cat) and click the GO
  164. toolbar button.  This should return a list of found images and the
  165. thumbnails should arrive shortly after that. 
  166.  
  167. HTML coding can come in many varieties.  GRIF tries to extract as 
  168. many image and page links as possible from the HTML source, but can 
  169. still miss some links if the HTML tag is coded in a way GRIF cannot 
  170. recognize.  If you find an HTML page that GRIF misses the image
  171. links or have a favorite Graphics Page you want to the GRIF
